Charter Chambers barristers Tasmin Malcolm and Darren Snow together with our third six pupil Alexandra Monaghan attended this year’s Urban Lawyers Career Conference, held on Saturday 16th November, at the London offices of international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
The conference was attended by over 250 law student – all aspiring solicitors and barristers seeking career advice and opportunities to network with practising lawyers. Our team manned a stand at the careers fair where they answered questions about the criminal bar and life as a pupil barrister. Charter Chambers was in good company with several other chambers and many international law firms exhibiting. Darren delivered a workshop to aspiring criminal barristers on how to get criminal pupillage – focusing upon CV building, gaining work experience in the legal world, securing the all-important interview and then making it count. The team had a great day. Read Alexandra’s own journey to the Bar “Girls from Essex do get Pupillage” by clicking on the title.
Charter Chambers has a strong commitment to social mobility and encouraging the very best to come to the criminal bar, regardless of backgrounds. We are a proud sponsor of Urban Lawyers and wish the charity continued success in encouraging young people from all walks of life to seek out and aspire to careers in law.
